How Billing and Payments Work in ENS Creator Studio
This article explains how billing and payments work in ENS Creator Studio so creators, businesses, and organizations can clearly understand how ENS charges for services.
Before using ENS Creator Studio, it is important to understand how our billing system works. ENS uses three main billing components:
Time-based billing (subscription or per-program)
Prepayment
ENS Creator Credits
These three components work together to make billing transparent, secure, and flexible for creators.
1. Understanding Your Requirements
Before submitting a program, live broadcast, or advertising campaign, you should first understand how long your content will run.
ENS services are program-based, which means billing is calculated based on the duration of your content.
In simple terms:
You only pay for the time your content is scheduled to run on ENS platforms.
Knowing your expected duration in advance helps you:
Estimate your total cost
Choose the right subscription or one-time purchase
Avoid unexpected charges
2. Time-Based Billing
Most activities on ENS Creator Studio involve:
Live programs
Scheduled broadcasts
Advertising campaigns
All of these run for a specific period of time. For this reason, ENS uses time-based billing.
You are charged according to the duration of your program or campaign.
Example
If your program runs for 30 minutes, the price is:
75,000 UGX (approximately 20–21 USD)
You only pay for the time you use on the platform. If your program runs longer, the cost will increase based on the selected duration and applicable rates.
Tip: Always confirm the duration and rate before finalizing your booking to avoid changes or cancellations later.
3. Prepayment Requirement
ENS uses a prepayment model. This means:
Payment must be completed before your program or campaign goes live.
Why Prepayment Is Required
Prepayment helps ENS:
Maintain platform security
Prevent misuse or fraud by bad-faith users
Ensure that scheduled time slots are reserved for serious creators and businesses
Once your payment is confirmed:
Your content can be scheduled
ENS can begin preparing your program or campaign for publication
If payment is not completed, your program or campaign may not be approved or scheduled.
4. Refund Eligibility
ENS may provide refunds under specific conditions. All refund requests are reviewed before approval.
You may request a refund if:
You cancel your program at least 5 hours before the scheduled start time, or
Your program was not delivered as agreed and 3 hours have passed beyond the scheduled broadcast time.
When Refunds May Not Be Approved
Refunds may not be approved if the issue occurred because of:
Incorrect or incomplete submissions by the creator
User-side technical problems (e.g., poor internet connection, wrong file formats)
Violations of ENS policies or terms of service
Last-minute cancellations that do not meet the 5-hour requirement
Only unused or undelivered portions of your service may be considered for a refund, and each case is evaluated individually.
5. ENS Creator Credits
All payments made through ENS Creator Studio are processed using ENS Creator Credits.
Credits act as your internal payment balance within the platform.
Instead of charging your card, mobile money, or bank account every time you schedule a program or run a campaign, ENS converts your payment into credits that you can use when needed.
How Credits Work
You add money to your ENS account.
ENS converts that amount into ENS Creator Credits.
When you use a service (e.g., schedule a broadcast), the required credits are automatically deducted from your balance.
6. Why ENS Uses Credits
The credit system provides several advantages:
Faster payment processing
No need to re-enter payment details for every program or campaign.Easier campaign management
Manage multiple programs, broadcasts, and ads from a single credit balance.Quick refunds when necessary
Approved refunds can be returned as credits faster than external payment reversals in many cases.Better protection of your payment details
Your sensitive payment information is used less frequently, reducing risk.Secure payment monitoring
You can track how many credits you spend on each program or campaign.
Credits allow creators and businesses to manage their spending more easily across ENS services.
7. Using Credits
Once credits are added to your account, they can be used to:
Schedule live broadcasts
Upload and publish programs
Run advertising campaigns
Promote content across ENS platforms
When you confirm a service:
The system calculates the required credits based on duration and service type
The corresponding amount is automatically deducted from your credit balance
If you do not have enough credits, you will be prompted to top up before proceeding.
8. Credit Refund and Withdrawal Policy
Unused credits may be eligible for refund or withdrawal, depending on the circumstances and ENS policies at the time of your request.
However:
Credits that have already been consumed cannot be refunded or withdrawn.
Example
You purchase credits worth 150,000 UGX.
You use part of those credits to pay for a scheduled 30-minute program.
The credits used for that program are considered consumed and cannot be returned.
Any remaining unused credits in your balance may be considered for refund or withdrawal, subject to review.
Refunds or withdrawals of unused credits may involve:
Identity verification
Compliance checks
Processing times depending on your payment method and region
9. Subscription Options
In addition to per-program billing, ENS also provides subscription plans for users who prefer recurring access to ENS services.
Available options may include:
Weekly subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions
Yearly subscriptions
These plans are designed for:
Frequent creators
